The annual celebration of the work thousands of organisations are doing to improve money management across the UK, the goal of Talk Money Week is to turn talking about money from one of the UK’s least favourite topics of conversation into something that becomes as natural and familiar as talking about the weather.
Starting on November 12, the weeklong event is part of the Financial Capability Strategy for the UK and aims to get more people talking about money. Organisations including banks, employers, charities and even the government are involved in showing why it’s good to talk about finances.
Research shows that people who do:
• make better and less risky financial decisions
• have stronger personal relationships
• help their children form good lifetime money habits
• feel less stressed or anxious and more in control
Building money conversations into our everyday lives also helps us build financial confidence and resilience to face whatever the future throws at us.
To recognise Talk Money Week 2019, we’ve chosen our brand-new Managing Personal Finances module. An exclusive for our popular Module of the Month series, we’ve giving you access to explore this pre-release course, which focuses on managing your money to spend consciously and save effectively.
