Every July, Samaritans, the world’s first 24-hour helpline supported today by over 20,000 volunteers, run ‘Talk to Us’, a National Awareness campaign.
Launched to promote the vital services offered by the charity for over 60 years, the ‘Talk to Us’ campaign raises awareness of and encourages conversations to start to challenge the stigma around mental health.
Branches all across the UK and Ireland hold local events to spread the good word about the incredible services they offer in communities around the country. Whether a coffee morning or bake sale, Talk to Us is an essential way of promoting the service for anyone in need of someone to listen without judgement or pressure.
To recognise Talk to Us, we’ve chosen our Mental Health module as July’s Module of the Month. As part of our Workplace Wellbeing range, this module explores what an organisation can do to support individuals in the workplace who are suffering with a mental health problem as well as offer practical support and strategies for promoting mental wellbeing in the workplace.
Mental health affects everyone in some way and should be treated the same way as physical health – if you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a friend, colleague or service who are there to listen and support people in times of need or crisis.
