As part of our dedication to managing our existing content, alongside the development of new topics, MicroLearn’s Creative Team have revisited one of the first ranges we created, Equality and Diversity, to revise and update this content.
Forming a key part of our Compliance Catalogue, the original E&D courses focused primarily on legislation and how it related to the nine protected characteristics; Age, Race, Religion or Belief, Gender Reassignment, Sex Discrimination, Sexual Orientation, Pregnancy & Maternity, Marriage & Civil Partnership and Disability.
However, following a catalogue review, we concluded that as well as exploring the law, the content could be made even more relatable to workplace learners by enhancing our courses with the addition of more practical advice and real-world examples. For example, exploring the impact of discrimination by association on the interview process and how to handle discrimination claims internally to prevent escalation.
The team have completely overhauled the range with 10 brand new VideoScribe videos, featuring our newest voice talent Zoe, as well as revisiting and reworking the expanded learning sections in the Modules to make each title as informative and valuable as possible for our learners.
As well as updated courses on each of the nine protected characteristics, the Equality & Diversity range now features a new introductory course focused on the impact of the Equality Act 2010 on the working environment, as well as courses on Unconscious Bias and Workplace Bullying which were added to the catalogue earlier this year.
Looking ahead to 2019, we’ve already started curating the content for our first release which will feature courses on the Data Protection Act 2018, Career Planning, First Impressions and Inducting a New Team Member, as well as the expansion of the Workplace Wellbeing range with the addition of Better Judgements, created in collaboration with the award-winning author and specialist in behavioural skills, Liggy Webb.
