The Access Group, one of the UK’s leading software providers for mid-sized organisations, today announced the acquisition of MicroLearn, a Southampton based learning solutions provider. The business was launched in 2017 by Steve and Ali Soper to provide an alternative to traditional click-next-to-continue eLearning which can be a serious time-stealer and instead champion a blended micro-learning approach to boost an organisation’s learning culture.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Steve and his daughter Ali created MicroLearn in 2017, understanding that the market was moving beyond the limits of traditional training and learners’ expectations were rapidly evolving. MicroLearn comprises a team of passionate digital learning creators that are focused on developing cutting edge micro-learning resources for learners across different sectors. MicroLearn was launched at the Learning Technologies Conference in 2017, showcasing their innovative and responsive approach to instructional design. In the last 2 years MicroLearn has become a leader in this space serving more than 300 organisations today with in excess of 750,000 active users utilising more than 150 training titles across 10 different industry sectors.
Chris Bayne, CEO, The Access Group, commented, “The Digital Learning marketplace continues to grow rapidly, with Europe alone expected to see a CAGR of nearly 15% through to 2023. The UK represents an impressive share of this market, which is why we continue to grow organically and through acquisition, the portfolio of learning solutions we can provide through Access Workspace. Many of our current and future clients are feeling the pressure to retrain rather than rehire as the labour crunch continues to impact businesses. Our ability to offer Digital Learning through Access Workspace, the same platform as people use to do their job every day, we believe that uptake will increase and therefore business will see an increase in adherence and completion, delivering significantly more benefit to their businesses.”
Steve Soper, MD and Co-founder at MicroLearn also shares, “In 2017, with more than 20 years’ experience in the eLearning market, my daughter Ali and I recognised a change in the market. So we founded MicroLearn to deliver a new way of learning, adapting to today’s audience and the latest eLearning techniques. Since then we have seen significant uptake in the market for our innovative and responsive approach to learning that perfectly fits today’s market requirements. We have developed a library of 16 diverse suites containing more than 750 resources to enable staff development. Further, we have built a team focused on course development that are generating more than 8-12 new titles every quarter. This enables our customers to continually enhance and extend the skills of their teams.”
Access is one of the fastest growing UK based tech businesses in the world and has recently announced impressive results for the year ended 30th Jun 2019.
