With the UK currently experiencing a heatwave, many of us are sat in hot offices wishing we were at the beach, paddling in the sea and sipping an ice cold drink. That’s why we’ve decided to make Life Balance August’s Module of the Month as we explore how to get the best of both worlds.

Rental Company, Spotahome recently conducted a study to determine which nations had the best work-life balance. The Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark all came out on top, while Britain was ranked 28th in the world.

The study also revealed that 1 in 8 people work an average of 50 hours a week, increasing their chances of experiencing a burnout which would see their production levels drop drastically, the signs of which include forgetfulness, continual lateness and prolonged periods of tiredness.

That’s why we created our Life Balance course, in collaboration with the Learning Architect, Liggy Webb as part of our extensive Workplace Wellbeing range.

The module explores how to strike the perfect balance between your personal and professional lives by detailing the signs of an unhealthy balance, offering suggestions for how your employer could help you work towards that balance as well as the top tips for creating a successful balance, such as learning to say no, switching off work related technologies when out of the office and finding time for yourself, for example using your commute as time for relaxation and personal development instead of work.
